Making their maiden appearance in the Philippines Best Workplaces™ 2021 list is global telecommunications giant Ericsson, who wowed employees with an above and beyond level of care towards their wellbeing, empowerment and motivation throughout the pandemic.
When the pandemic hit, their Hazard Pay policy was quickly expanded to cover all employees as well as employees of partner agencies who had to perform fieldwork or work on-site.
They also crafted a customized Remote Working and Collaboration Handbook along with comprehensive guides and coaching specialists to ensure each and every employee could work-from-home effectively.
Having created a Covid-19 SharePoint intranet service to ensure employees had access to the latest information and guidelines, as well as a Yammer page for informal internal communication, the management further placed meticulous thought into rolling out a far-reaching wellness framework under their Ericsson Care program to ensure employee wellbeing.
Their huge emphasis on wellbeing extended from a website and mobile app to newsletters, health and wellness talks, webinars by field experts along with an event-filled Ericsson Care week that featured engaging contests and unique activities such as Kindness Pledges made by management and employees.
Programs such as the #HackTheVirus competition that called for employee suggestions on how to fight the pandemic made staff feel heard, while the special allowance they were provided to purchase ergonomic home office furniture made them feel appreciated and empowered to be their best.
