I still remember that day an organizer of Medtronic Engagement events approached me asking if I can host that year's Year-end party. That very day is the start of my Engagement Life in Medtronic. My heart is so happy that the passion I have for Hosting events and organizing activities is now intertwining with my day job. What would be more wonderful than doing my passion while working?

I am now the lead of the Medtronic Philippines' Engagement Team. We do research and surveys on how our people will feel included in all the events that we do. We get the ideas from FGDs and surveys to know what would inspire employees to go to work and look forward to see their teammates. I am part of the team who aims to give everyone a breath of fresh air when they feel tired. Giving chance for people to come together even if they come from different walks of life. I pride myself in bridging the gap between the departments and making sure that there are no strangers in the workplace.
This year, me and my team are putting sparkles to our people's lives by creating the Year-End Celebration with much more than what we have planned in the past years. And our only goal is to give nothing but the best to our people while building strong connections..

Tonight, I will go put myself to rest with the thought that I will make people happy again.. like what I did in the past 4 years. Thank you Medtronic!

My name is Ralph Apoderado, IÕm currently the Sales Operations Manager of Medtronic Philippines. IÕve been with the company for over 5 years now. Quite interestingly, I am a product of rehire.

Having experienced working for both a local company and a multinational company, from covering national scope to regional role, from being a Sales Representative, to Sales Manager, to Marketing Manager and Sales Operations Lead requires a great deal of adjustment & openness to change. I can say that my experience with Medtronic allowed me to go through those changes and adjustments with ease. With Medtronic, I have always been given opportunities to innovate, to work on new projects & programs while receiving support and encouragement from the organization.
On top of my main responsibilities, I get to host during company events, lead socials committee, participate in employee relations group, manage communications and be part of other equally important company projects. These are the kinds of opportunities that allowed me to develop and discover new skills that I never thought I have Ð ergo, the self confidence that I develop over time are because of these employee engagement. The working conditions at Medtronic helped me to stay motivated, feel that I am seen and heard. More so, believe that I am a trusted & valued employee with limitless potential.

The promotions, exposure, awards and recognitions I received, from being awarded as Sales Professional of the Year, Employee of The Year, Marketing Excellence of the Year, Mantra of the Year and other recognitions is a testament that I belong to a great company. I believe that when an employee excels in his or her job, its means that the company is able to provide a suitable environment and motivation to prosper in the workplace. When I joined Medtronic, I vividly remember the organizationÕs mission statement posted in the walls of our 30th office. I felt inspired by the company's credibility to its goals to deliver solutions that transform lives. Knowing that the company cares deeply to the patients, it made me believe that the company also values us, their talents.

In span of more than a year working here, I have also admired the equal respect we have regardless of position, and level. Aside from that, I am also amazed that everyone of us has a respect in our work regardless of what we do. In other words, I did not feel any unfair judgement especially as a newcomer growing into my role. I also noticed that in Medtronic, everyone has a chance to bring out the spark within themselves by participating any engagement activities, be part of any committee and volunteer, like the gift giving volunteer event which I joined recently to pack goods to be gifted to children in Manila Boys Town.

In these moments, I feel really blessed and engaged, but most of all, I believe that Medtronic has given me career opportunities for me to develop in my role.

I am immensely proud of the efforts I put in my work and how it can contribute to the improvement of our patient's life quality. Also, in working with a diverse environment where I work with colleagues in all parts of the world just shows how strong the global collaboration is inside the company. I am thankful to the Medtronic because of how great the people work together to support each other. And when my efforts become accomplishments, whether they are big or small, I know that it will contribute to the legacy we are building, and that this legacy will inspire us every day to keep moving forward.
